Pastor Vernon and Susan Roosevelt

Pastor Roosevelt, was born in 1951 in the city of brotherly love Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA.

At the age of nineteen, during the Vietnam era, he was called into the military and served in the US Air Force for four years. His last two years were served in England, where he met his wife Susan who is originally from the East end of London. In the summer of 1975, they were married in the US. They both received Jesus as Saviour only two weeks apart in 1979. At that time Vernon also accepted his call into the ministry.

In the summer of 1980, without any visible means of income or savings, Susan and Vernon accepted God’s call to return to England. After one year Pastor Roosevelt took on a US government position at the base where they had first met in Huntingdon, Cambs. Public ministry started in the mid-nineteen eighties, where he ministered and pastored at the chapel on base, as well as at off base fellowships. In 1988, he was ordained through an American ministry.

At the Lord’s leading in 1997, New Life in Christ Ministries was birthed in their living room in Harrogate. In 2012 Pastor Roosevelt, attended Charis Bible College, graduating four years later.

Pastor Roosevelt has a strong preaching gift and a life-long passion to teach the truth of the Bible with accuracy, fervour and integrity. Susan has a big heart for people and loves meeting new people and helping them to feel welcome, belong and know they are loved by God.

Through their ministry at New Life in Christ, many people across the globe have been impacted by the saving love and truth of Jesus Christ. Pastor Roosevelt says: “I thank God for His unmerited grace and faithfulness in calling and keeping us to serve Him and the community. We are truly blessed and honoured.”
